BURGER KING

Role

Agency

Turning office party shame into a brand opportunity While most brands go for heartwarming campaigns during the holiday season, Burger King Germany dared to tackle a universal truth: the morning after the office Christmas party. “X-MAS Hangover” is a series of three short films that humorously capture the awkward, embarrassing aftermath of festive celebrations—from cringe-worthy karaoke to questionable dance moves.

As Art Director and Copywriter, I collaborated closely with the ECDs and CDs of Burger King.

The campaign resonated with audiences for its honesty and boldness, earning multiple international awards and recognition.

«While most festive ads chase sweetness, X-mas Hangover finds honesty in the real emotional aftermath, the laughter and confusion that stick with you».

The whale bath

A hung-over woman in the bathtub tormented by the memory of blasting whale anthems at the office Christmas party, capturing the cringe of the morning after.

The Superboss

A boss wakes up remembering he proudly showed off his feet to everyone at the Christmas party, mixing awkward introspection with comic discomfort.

The Lizards

A man relives his embarrassing party monologue about secret societies, power and strange theories, turning his post-party hangover into a surreal self-reckoning.

«X-mas Hangover stood out creatively and was recognized with Silver at the ADC Awards, proving the idea resonated with industry peers ».

Well, how was the Christmas party yesterday? Did you really tell everyone about our vacation in Bali and sang the whale songs? By the way, the video of it is super funny!

We can’t fix last night. But we can make today.

It was a really cool Christmas party yesterday. Great music, great drinks, mega atmosphere… Especially when you showed your bare feet. I didn’t know you liked them so much!

We can’t fix last night. But we can make today.

Hey! Wow, are you also exhausted from the Christmas party yesterday? Your story about the UFOs was really weird. Why did you call our boss «lizard man»?
